How to configure a new meshtastic device to join our net!
If you just got your device, first pair it to your phone via bluetooth, and set your region to US.
Next in the radio configuration start working your way down the list.

User Settings:
Set up your long name and short name as you see fit, but try to keep it family friendly, remember this is being broadcast to everyone on the mesh.

Channels:
Something to note is your location (if you have a gps module) is sent to the first channel (channel 0) in this area.
To increase your location saftey I would recommend deleting this first channel and add your own or ours here.
We operate a TC2-BBS server from the user "dbbs" or "darkstar-BBS" with the public key of "iG88biDjTlg6+2klYF4Tg/ePjw01c3NxV8dx1ubo4R0="
If you are in range of our mesh, just give it a few minutes, and it should show up in your contacts list, then just send it a direct message saying hi!
It has our unofficial "official" channel infomation and will automaticly add it to your meshtastic if you wish.

After adding whatever you prefer as a "Primary" channel, ie, channel 0; you can then recreate the original channel by just adding a channel and keeping the defaults.
Remember the default LongFast channel is very public and preconfigured on everyone's device, so everyone by default will see whatever you share in this channel.

Device:
As the mesh grows, we'll get more into the weeds but for now having the role "client" will be fine for most users and devices.
If you have many devices, it might be benificial to set most to "client_mute" to avoid rebroadcasting everything all the time.
More info on the meshtastic site here: https://meshtastic.org/docs/configuration/radio/device/

LoRa:
This has a few important changes, make sure that "LONG_FAST" is the modem preset.
Region should be set to United States
Hop Limit 3
Frequency Slot NEEDS to be set to "20" <- This is important! we operate on 906.875 MHz if not set to this, you won't hear us!
